History of LG Clays
April and Brian Crow, members of the Leadership Georgia Class of 2015, are the visionary founders of LG Clays, an event that has become a beloved Leadership Georgia tradition while providing meaningful support for the organization's mission.
While serving as 2017 Program 1 PCs, April and Brian experienced firsthand the challenges of fundraising and saw an opportunity to try something different. Immediately after completing their program, they begin developing a new fundraising idea and, while still serving as PCs, hosted the inaugural event in 2017 to benefit the 2018 program. With significant support from the 2016 Program 1 PCs, Fran and Russell Smith, the first event was a tremendous success. Since its inception, the event has brought together Leadership Georgia members for a day of fellowship, friendly competition, and philanthropy, raising significant funds to support future first programs and strengthen the Leadership Georgia experience for generations to come.
Their commitment to Leadership Georgia extends far beyond LG Clays. April and Brian have generously served the organization in numerous leadership roles, including their service as Program Chairs for the 2017 First Program at Brasstown Valley and April's service on the Board of Trustees from 2022–2024. In recognition of their unwavering dedication and service, they were honored with the Frederick B. Kerr Service Award in 2020–2021, an honor presented to members who have demonstrated enthusiastic and sustained support of Leadership Georgia.
Through their vision, leadership, and generosity, April and Brian have created more than an annual fundraiser—they have established a lasting legacy that continues to benefit Leadership Georgia and its future leaders.
